Brothers Grimm Pathfinder: Is this for you?
-------------------------------------------------------
The purpose of this Pathfinder is to provide teachers with resources and tools to teach about Grimm Fairy Tales. These resources are intended for teachers in upper middle school and lower high school (Grades 7-12). On this site you will find information on the original fairy tales, adaptations of Grim tales, lesson plans and activities, and information on the Grimm brothers themselves. The Pathfinder is designed to provide teachers with easy access to teaching tools to assist in the creation of thematic units that spread over several departments or disciplines. Teachers can evaluate the modern adaptation primary sources we provide and select which ones they would like to teach in comparative lessons. Anticipated outcomes of this Pathfinder include improving teaching strategies and educational experiences for grades 7-12. In addition, students will be able to make thematic connections across different educational disciplines using the Grimm Fairy Tales as a vehicle. Students can also consult our list of modern adaptation primary sources for their own pleasure reading purposes. We have organized the resource into four major categories, located in the directory on the left hand side of the site. These categories are:
Each page is organized by medium (books, articles, websites etc.) Additionally, throughout the site, there are links that give more detailed lists of sources for popular individual tales and their adaptations.
